TFP aims to promote foreign trade to, from and within the EBRD regions.
About us
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) Trade Facilitation Programme has been running since 1999 and has been the recipient of numerous awards. The programme aims to promote foreign trade to, from and amongst the EBRD countries of operations and offers a range of products to facilitate this trade. Through the programme the EBRD provides guarantees to international confirming banks, taking the political and commercial payment risk of international trade transactions undertaken by banks in the countries of operations (the issuing banks). We also provide short-term loans to selected banks and factoring companies for on-lending to local exporters, importers and distributors The programme can guarantee any genuine trade transaction to, from and among the countries of operations. The programme strengthens the ability of local banks to provide trade financing and through these banks gives entrepreneurs throughout our countries of operations the support they need to increase their access to their import and export trade.

“Why digitise and automate?” Our final panel of the day here in #Bratislava explored this. There is a collective view that digitisation and digitalisation is a must - but there are steps which can make this challenging. So where is the friction that is stopping uptake? Panellists shared their perspectives on the fast pace of changes in the industry influenced by regulatory frameworks - KYC has evolved to KYT - this means more monitoring and more data. Making data quality extremely important and processing speeds critical. Banks can use tech solutions to help with these challenges. Charlotte Pardou of Swift moderated an excellent panel of EBRD banking partners: Ana Kavtaradze of Basisbank Hans-Joerg Krohn of Commerzbank AG Nelli Kocharyan, CITF of Converse Bank Stefan Wichtl of Raiffeisen Bank International AG Thank you to our esteemed partners and friends for your insights! #EBRD #Digitalisation #TFP #CEE Shona Tatchell Anna Brod-Ohana Marco Nindl Ikbol Hakimov Angaaraa Enkhbayar Charlie O'Mulloy
