Another exciting thing at Parsons School of Design - The New School this month - Good Interventions '24 Design Exhibition https://lnkd.in/eYMjxdjy. The event showcases 15 winning design projects from all around the world. They share a concern with addressing pressing and intractable contemporary issues by bringing social sciences and design thinking and practice together. The competition and exhibition were founded by Koray Caliskan and organized by the School of Design Strategies and will take place in its permanent exhibition as a portal in the Platform of Design Strategies at Parsons School of Design at The New School. I'm chuffed [Trans. flattered and delighted] to have been invited to act as discussant. This is part of a collaboration between me, Teea Palo and Addie McGowan with Koray Caliskan to learn all about using design methods to teach interdisciplinary market studies in our brand new MSc fusion course Designing Market Places and Place Markets at Edinburgh Futures Institute. You can register to watch the opening online https://lnkd.in/eyentq9d

Visit our "Borne by the Walls" exhibit next time you're in the Edinburgh Futures Institute building! The in-person exhibit is located at the East corridor on Level 0 and will be available to view until 23 October, while the online exhibit is on our website ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eBX2yy8c 'Borne by the Walls' is a portrait series that documents people with a connection to the old Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and reflects on the mark that the hospital left in the minds, bodies and life stories of people in Edinburgh and beyond. Photographer Gintare Kulyte captured diverse stories of former members of hospital staff, former patients of the hospital, and people whose lives were otherwise connected to the hospital’s activity. Each photograph was taken in a location of the former hospital that is significant or symbolic to each person’s story. The series is closely connected to Edinburgh International Book Festival's project 'Words from the Wards.' Many of the authors featured in this exhibition submitted their stories to this project.
