Yesterday, Isabel O'Brien and Jade Williams swapped GOLD HQ for Reuters Events Pharma Customer Engagement 2024! From actionable strategies to thought-provoking insights, check out their round-up below: An early session we enjoyed was with Roche’s Richard Wright on designing customer experiences that truly support business goals. His advice? Don’t make “enhancing CX” the goal. Instead, define your business outcomes, identify the behaviours needed to achieve them and then shape customer experiences to drive those behaviours. Also in a panel exploring the roadmap to next-generation customer engagement, Rodney B. Smith, Daiichi Sankyo, reinforced the fact that “if you don’t bring value, you’re not going to get additional time with your customers”. In an industry where time with the customer is so scarce, every interaction must be worthwhile to lead to another. Another highlight came from friend of EMJ GOLD, Martina Dempsey, Astellas Pharma, whose presentation revealed that only 27% of HCPs find biopharma communications relevant and personalised. With 75% more therapeutic area content available today than a decade ago, she emphasised that getting omnichannel right can be the key to success. Finally, behaviour change was the focus of an insightful presentation by Ben Myall, CEO, Everybody Agency. Using the powerful example of HRT, he presented a framework for reducing the biases that can distort prescribing decisions or reduce the importance attached to certain conditions. A great lesson in understanding the why of decision making. #REcustomerEU24
