The Exeter Chiefs Community deliver a wide variety of programmes in the South West.

About us

The Exeter Chiefs Community, proudly sponsored by Sika now into its 14th year deliver a wide variety of national and local run programmes throughout the region, including rugby engagement, education, participation, inclusion, as well as health and well being programmes. Since it's inception back in 2008, the aim of the Community Chiefs has been to positively benefit the local area, specifically looking at benefiting every single person we work with. This is done through various programmes, which sees the department work with and engage with over 10,000 people from local schools and colleges, clubs and groups every season. The success of what is achieved is then broadcast out to hundreds and thousands, through both the official Exeter Chiefs and Community Chiefs social channels, as well as to live audiences attending Sandy Park on match days.

  • 🌟 Luke's Inspiring Journey with Chiefs Engage 🌟 Meet Luke, a young man who faced bullying and disengagement in school due to not being understood and not having his educational needs met at a comprehensive secondary school. Mainstream education and its busy and unpredictable environment was too overwhelming and Luke suffered a burnout, and left school all together. When Luke joined the Chiefs Engage programme, he immediately felt welcomed and a part of a nurturing and friendly support group. Designed for 11–16-year-olds struggling in mainstream education, Chiefs Engage uses the core values of rugby—teamwork, discipline, respect, and resilience—to empower students. For Luke, the smaller class sizes and hands-on learning approach reignited his passion for education. He not only excelled academically, particularly in sports, but also formed meaningful friendships that boosted his confidence. After completing 30 hours of work experience, Luke successfully reintegrated into mainstream education, joining an independent school, where he is at currently thriving. His outlook in life has changed and he has found a new motivation for learning and doing well. Now, he’s an enthusiastic player for Exeter Saracens U16. He has embraced an active lifestyle and is feeling much healthier and happier, having lost weight and becoming very fit. Luke’s journey exemplifies the transformative power of tailored education. We’re proud to support him as he continues to grow, showing that with the right guidance, anything is possible. 💪🏉 #ChiefsEngage #Inspiration #Resilience #HealthyLiving #rugbyvalues

  • As part of our studies, our students have been looking at health and fitness in particular the muscles and bones of the body. This involved a treasure hunt where students had to find the muscles and bones written on post-it notes hidden around the building, and then place the post-it notes onto the part of the body where they believed the muscles and bones to be. They took what they learned with them to the gym where they had to use exercises involving muscles and bones. A massive thanks must go to Winners Gym Newton Abbot who have given our students free membership to help with their health and wellbeing. https://lnkd.in/eJF-CZX5 https://lnkd.in/e4DKFEHP #chiefsengage #winnersgym #CommunityChiefs #education
