We are further growing our team in Europe and Pablo Zárate will be joining Gallagher later this year as a Senior Broker in our property practice in Switzerland. Pablo joins us from Marsh where he has worked for the last 14 years, first focusing on power and utilities and for the past six years within the international property team. Pablo studied in Bilbao and Regensburg Germany. Nepomuk Loesti, Chief Commercial Officer for Europe, said: “The appointment of Pablo is fantastic news and he will be a great extension to our team, contributing to our development with his vast experience and winning mindset. Last month the Gallagher Public Sector, Education & Housing team gathered in Manchester for this year’s ALARM Conference in what was another fantastic and well-organised event. As usual, there were a number of thoroughly informative workshops delivered by highly experienced risk and insurance practitioners; the Keynote/Plenary sessions were both moving and inspirational. Well done to everyone at ALARM, embrace risk for a terrific couple of days and for making this event one of the highlights of the year. Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday evening for our annual Curry & Quiz night hosted in association with Browne Jacobson. It was an entertaining and enjoyable evening and a great way to kickstart the Conference. As our quiz compares, Jonathan Cook and Mark Sangster did a sterling job once again. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to have the opportunity to network with our partners, counterparts, clients and future clients. A huge thank you to everyone who came by our stand to see us in the exhibition hall on Monday and Tuesday! We are pleased to confirm that Jenna McMahon from St Helens Borough Council was the lucky winner of our competition - a £500 charitable donation. On Monday evening the ALARM community came together for the Risk Awards and to celebrate the achievements of organisations and individuals in managing risk. This year Gallagher was proud to sponsor two categories that recognise those who go the extra mile to make a real difference in our sector. Congratulations to Durham University who won the ‘Organisational Award’ for embracing the functionality of Office 365 (including SharePoint, Power BI, and Power Automate) to revolutionise its approach to the management of organisational risk and opportunity across the institution. Congratulations also to Saskia Richardson, Risk & Business Continuity Officer at Shropshire Council for picking up this years Rising Star award. Among her many achievements, Saskia has developed a risk environment system to allow projects and programmes to capture opportunities. She has also facilitated risk workshops for new projects, supported the development of service business continuity plans in a self-service electronic environment, and created two online training modules for risk management and business continuity. Big shout out to everyone nominated for a Risk Award this year and a special well done to all the eventual winners. We are looking forward to next year's event already.

Supporting the communities where we are based plays a key role for all of us at Gallagher. Throughout June, our UK colleagues dedicated over 1,200 hours of their time to volunteer. We were delighted to see so many of our colleagues going out and giving back to their local communities and supporting important causes. Some of our team volunteering highlights for June include: ➡️Our Gallagher Gives Back workstream colleagues volunteered at Bristol Harbour where they worked with Sustainable Hive to do some plastic fishing. The team had a great day on the harbour and managed to collect over 30kg of rubbish from the harbour. Emma Sheron, ESG Manager, EMEA, said: “Our team really enjoyed the day volunteering and working with Sustainable Hive. It was brilliant to see everyone pulling together and helping to make a difference, not just to the local area but also to the environment.” ➡️Our Glasgow branch supported Young Enterprise Scotland to help young people learn, develop and succeed through enterprise and financial education. Our team in Glasgow helped out by painting one of the outdoor classrooms and clearing weeds from the outdoor space. Donna Beckett, Account Handler, at our Glasgow Office, said: “We had a really enjoyable day volunteering with Young Enterprise Scotland at their Rouken Glen site. It was great to spend time with colleagues from the Glasgow office, and we managed to dodge the rain for most of the day.” ➡️Our charities team volunteered with BACA Charity which supports young people who have been forced to flee their countries by providing safe homes, education, and therapeutic care so they can become thriving members of their community. The team helped out by tidying one of the charity’s community gardens in Leicestershire. Ben Harris Mid-Market Team Leader, Charity & Healthcare, said: “It was great to meet our at Baca Charity for a second year and to tackle another garden. It was a perfect time of the year to be outside and it coincided with Refugee Week. It’s starting to become a fun annual tradition getting stuck into transforming their outside spaces so their young people can enjoy.” Thank you to all our colleagues who continue to make a difference by supporting their communities! #GallagherGivesBack
