The second half of SXSW at UK House has reinforced an important truth: business success today is about far more than just transactions—it’s about trust, value, and meaningful engagement. Across industries, from fashion to music to digital innovation, the conversations I’ve had the privilege to host have showcased just how much consumer expectations are reshaping the future of brands. The stage at UK House continued with: Threading the Future: Innovation & Culture in Sustainable Fashion Fashion has always been about self-expression, but today, it’s also about responsibility. I moderated this conversation with Samata Pattinson (Black Pearl ) and Brooke Roberts-Islam (Techstyler) which was a deep dive into how brands are embracing material innovation, transparency, and circularity. With brands under pressure to move beyond greenwashing, we explored how leaders like Samata and Brooke are pushing for real change—whether through industry-wide advocacy or redefining how sustainable materials are used at scale. Their message was clear: the brands that win will be those that put purpose before PR - a mission we at Buy Smarter Buy Greener have had from the start Music & Tech Unplugged: How UK & US Tech Collaboration is Transforming the Music Industry (in partnership with WIRED) The intersection of music and technology has never been more exciting—or more complex. Innovation in this space isn’t just about streaming platforms, but how AI, virtual experiences, and fan engagement are reshaping how we discover, experience, and support artists.
