About us

A sculpture garden, gallery and artist's studio museum on the site of 20th century sculptor Henry Moore’s family home and estate. The 70 acres of grounds showcase Moore's world famous sculptures in their original setting The artist's studios are preserved as he left them and his family home is open to the public. Also on site is the Henry Moore Archive, which cares for the largest collection of Moore’s work in the world, while our archive offers researchers an unrivalled resource. The gardens and facilities are available for event hire and make a unique setting for weddings, private parties and corporate events.

    We are delighted to announce that David Isaac CBE has been appointed Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation’s Board of Trustees. David will succeed Sir Nigel Carrington in December 2024, who is stepping down after ten years of dedicated service. David Isaac brings a wealth of experience from his career in law, public service, philanthropy and the arts. He currently serves as Provost of Worcester College, Oxford and Chair of University of the Arts London. He chaired Modern Art Oxford for nearly two decades and served as a Trustee of 14-18 Now, which led the country’s artistic response to the commemoration of World War One. As Chair of the Henry Moore Foundation, David Isaac will steer the organisation in its mission to support ground-breaking sculpture projects, continue its international exhibitions programme, and further Moore’s legacy in the global art community.     Are you part of a community group based in East Hertfordshire, or a neighbouring area with ‘New Town’ history such as Harlow, Stevenage or Welwyn and Hatfield? We’d like to hear from you. This autumn, we are looking for community groups who would be interested in working with textile artist Alice Burnhope in a series of weekly workshops exploring natural dyeing techniques. We are looking for expressions of interest from groups across all ages and abilities. No experience in textiles is needed, just an open-minded interest or curiosity to try out natural dyeing techniques and develop your creativity, knowledge and skills. Groups will take part in artist-led workshops on Friday afternoons in October. During the session, students will learn about how Henry Moore experimented with plaster to create his sculptures, you will visit Moore's studio and learn about his techniques, before trying out casting and carving for yourselves.
