On day 16 of December, we have Paul, one of our Specialist Trainers! 2024 has been an excellent year for me both personally and professionally. Firstly getting the opportunity to facilitate the ‘understanding the experience of trauma’ training using the VR headsets in my role with children’s social care before joining the team at learning and development as a specialist trainer for adult social care. During December I have been delivering safety intervention training and also the Oliver Mcgowan mandatory autism training. It has been a privilege to be involved in this project, working alongside our colleagues at Matthew’s Hub and working closely with experts by experience with Learning disabilities and autism, the feedback we have had has been excellent 🌟 I look forward to continuing these projects in 2025 as well as developing other content to use with the virtual reality headsets. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas🎅 and a Happy New Year 🎄 and I am excited for what 2025 will bring!

It’s Jo’s message today… ‘’Can’t believe it’s Christmas again! You will find me in Brunswick wearing as much Christmas clothing as possible every day in December! I am immensely proud of what we have created at Brunswick and all the learning that takes place. Brunswick has become the learning hub for the council and I am looking forward to delivering more training around trauma and therapeutic approaches next year. My passion is classroom training, where we can create visual, impactful activities, especially the VR training. See you next year!” Jo Cross-Gray - specialist trainer

On the 12th day of December, we have Kerri and Tash, Training and Development Officers from Hull Safeguarding Children Partnership, Learning & Development. 2024 has seen us transform our Safeguarding Children: A Shared Responsibility training to a 3-hour interactive course that has received lots of positive feedback from over 1,000 participants across the partnership. 🙌 2025 will see us continue our focus on ensuring, we as adults understand what life is like for children through our priority areas of Neglect, Domestic Abuse, Exploitation and Multi-Agency arrangements. We’d like to thank everyone for engaging in safeguarding ❤️ and thinking about the voice and lived experiences of our children and young people in Hull, and wish you all a happy, safe, and healthy Christmas and New Year 🎄 .

Today it's our Specialist Trainer, Ruth! Ho-Ho-Ho Happy December All. First and foremost I would like to congratulate all internal and external partners for making it through the year. I am very proud to be a part of what keeps our wheels turning, delivering a range of learning opportunities. I would like to thank participants for making my job an enjoyable one 😊 Leading up to the much-needed Christmas break I am sure that there will be lots of nights out planned and I am pleased to say that I will play a ‘behind the scenes’ part in making sure that at the end of the night, when frolicking ceases and visions of pj’s and warmth creep into your thoughts, that you will be getting home safely. Aptly, my last working week of 2024 will be spent delivering the three-day Taxi Driver Training 🚕 . I love the multi-cultural mix of people who attend this training and wish to be a part of our wider transportation system, contributing to making Hull a safer place for all. Lastly, I wish everyone a very merry Christmas, however that may be celebrated, and a fantastic 2025 🎄
