Post-production has always been a collaborative process, but in recent years we’ve seen a sharp uptick in the number of customers who split their online, offline and mastering between different regions, or are being asked to perform one stage of a post workflow that begins and ends in other countries. There are several drivers behind this, from investment to tax breaks to the simple fact that advertising this kind of flexibility can give a facility an advantage over the competition in lean times, but whatever the reason a facility adopts a more distributed or ‘follow the sun’ workflow, there are always a few common challenges.
