🙌 A topping out fit for a royal 🙌 Last week our team at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) was joined by the Conservative MP for Orpington, Gareth Bacon, and key representatives from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and WT (UK & Europe), to celebrate the topping out of its new state-of-the-art endoscopy unit. The event included a tour of the site and then a traditional laying of cement to mark the highest point of construction on the scheme. This was then followed by speeches by Gareth Bacon, Professor Clive Kay, Angela Helleur, Dr Mayur Kumar, John Bolton and Jake Crawford. This is the latest milestone on the two-storey, 2,400 square metre facility that will support the delivery and increased demand for vital healthcare services in the south of London. Scheduled for completion in 2025, the new space will also support PRUH with its ambition to help up to an additional 4,500 cancer patients each year. 📚🚧 Empowering Young Minds, One Story at a Time 🚧📚 At Kier, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to dream big and explore new possibilities. Today, we had the pleasure of joining forces with #KierBamJV & Promoting Children in Plymouth for a special storytelling session with Year 1 students from across 21 Plymouth schools. With 30 team members volunteering over 40 hours, we engaged with 840 enthusiastic young minds—all in a single day. Each of our team members dedicated an hour to share a construction-themed story, igniting curiosity and sparking imaginations about the world of construction. Each student took home their very own copy of the book, ensuring that the inspiration continues beyond the classroom. This initiative isn’t just about reading stories; it is about investing in the future. By introducing construction concepts at an early age, we’re opening doors to new possibilities and encouraging these young students to see themselves in the industry one day. Together, we are building a brighter future, one story at a time. 🏗️✨
