Karina and I welcomed our little superstar 'Nova Mariel Whatmore' to the World earlier this month. The last couple of weeks has been a very special time for us and today, as I return from paternity leave I can't help but be excited for her future. Her future World which we are all responsible for creating today - through our good deeds and working toward achieving our visions and ambitions of betterment. Three years ago this week Karina Nasretdinova-Whatmore and I pulled together the embyrionic architecture for Future Flight Challenge Winning project Open Skies Cornwall (a £2m collaborative programme served by over 50 industry specialists and end users, incubated by the Civil Aviation Authority TRA Sandbox where we are progressing future legacy Drone ops for Royal Mail and the NHS and preparing the region for next gen aviation - netzero/Regional Air Mobility and much much more). 3 years on, and ahead of our programme scope and milestones, we know that if we and our industry peers continue to work hard, and with unity, little Nova will grow up in a more connected world, and a more connected Cornwall, meaning, that via improved air logistics and pax transport it will be possible to improve healthcare and resilience supply chains and allow greater accessibility to other regions and countries all in a way, in terms of emissions, that preserves the planet for her and her generation. Those that know us well will know we have always been future gazing in our work but for me and Karina we now have added purpose to work hard and deliver....and I totally now understand other parents who say this and feel empowered. What we all build, how we act, and what we invest our energy toward in the world today creates the canvas for our next generation to innovate, and whilst I plan to make good time for family, whilst at work I do not intend to waste a minute to do all I can to work on things that will contribute to an exciting, safe, civilised, peaceful and connected world for my daughter so she and all her peers can prosper.
