Over the last few weeks, the University of Portsmouth's business services teams have been busy... ▶ Amy Doyle, Ze Zook, Neville Pushparajah, Shermin Choban, Dina El Tabey and the team kicked off the 'Business Consultancy Project' for 2024, with over 120 students from the University of Portsmouth, Business and Law working on projects with 35 clients. ▶ Paula Grundy, Jayne Carrington and the team launched our next 'Business Boost' programme with New Forest District Council at the Greyfriars Centre in Ringwood, for SMEs seeking growth. ▶ Professor Sarah Turnbull, Dr Helen Thompson-Whiteside, Dr. Nigel Walton and Dr Judith Fletcher-Brown launched the new Centre for Business Resilience Inclusive Development Growth and Enterprise (BRIDGE). This is a research group that focuses on collaboration, research training, and entrepreneurship, and delivers Executive Education to businesses across the south of England. ▶ Becky Lodge and Andrew Hogbin took the Help to Grow: Management Course to Gosport for it's latest in-person workshop. ▶ Johanna Hooper's latest 'Help to Grow' cohort celebrated their success with a 'mini' graduation ceremony, with Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Business & Law Claire Sparrow and Entrepreneur in Residence Neville Merritt. ▶ Debbie Newman BA (Hons), Dan Lodge and the Business Support team were at the Hampshire Business Show yesterday meeting business leaders from across the south, alongside Jodie Plumridge from the Careers and Employability Service - University of Portsmouth and Katherine Jenkinson from the Degree Apprenticeships University of Portsmouth team too. 📅 And coming soon... Our latest group of SME business leaders have celebrated their success, after completing the University of Portsmouth's 'Help to Grow: Management Course'. After a welcome from Claire Sparrow and Dan Lodge, Entrepreneur in Residence Neville Merritt gave a presentation with tips for 'growth leadership' with inspiration from Sir Ernest Shackleton's South Pole expedition. After participants were presented with their certificates, many shared details of how they are already seeing improvements within their businesses.
