Lenders and mortgage brokers are calling on Government to introduce key reforms to stamp duty in the upcoming Budget, proposing a stamp duty refund for homebuyers who retrofit their property to achieve an EPC rating of C or higher. 📣 Great news for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme The Installation Assurance Authority (The IAA) welcomes the latest announcement on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. With applications on track for a record-breaking year, the Secretary of State for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has authorised Ofgem to over-allocate vouchers by up to £50 million in this financial year, to a total of up to £200 million. This boost ensures that consumers and industry can keep moving forward with heat pump installations, providing confidence that vouchers will remain available for the rest of the financial year. It was fantastic to hear about the new Warm Homes Local Grants Scheme and learn that low income homes will be able to improve their energy efficiency with the news that the scheme is now open for local authorities to submit their expressions of interest. This means that homes eligible for the grant can have energy efficiency measures installed to suit their individual homes, at no cost to the homeowner. We look forward to a future announcement on the funding allocated to this.
