ssvoboda The album is super diverse - there are both classic gothic atmospheres of previous albums with heavy metal overtones, and sudden passages. The mood of the album itself is also pleasing, I especially liked "Suicide Today" with a strong life-affirming overtone in the form of brilliant lines - "don't kill yourself today, you'll do it tomorrow". Definitely the most experimental album of the band. Favorite track: Suicide Today.

as the successors to Type O Negative or the Sisters of Mercy,
but as a band on the verge of something unholy and massive.

Unto Other's third LP, following underground classics, Mana and Strength, it's the sound of harsh light breaking through the Portland quartet's darkened gothic and classic metal motifs.
The band has teamed up with producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, The Cult), taking the next step from dark sunglasses and chugging metallic riffs to the more melodious gloom of lead track, "Butterfly", the crunching, punkish abandon of "Suicide Today" or the grandiosity of "Angel of the Night".

Extremely well done. A spiritual successor to the heavier parts of Agalloch's first two LPs. However, don't be fooled - this goes beyond homage - it is a great work in itself that distinguishes itself from others in the black/folk genre. Eric

I am aboard the Wayfarer train and happy to be here!!! A fierce and smoldering record. Smoky, soot-stained, and violent, as many others have observed. I grew a Van Dyke, a full-body black denim suit with blood-red garnet buttons, and a brand new Stetson right out of my head just listening to the opening songs. It really feels like Wayfarer have hit a stride, one which follows its nose for good blends of music. Happy to have seen ya at FITM, in DC w/ Sonja, and now very excited to see you again! pinkytheent
