Building a future together, the power of shared opportunities! 🙌🏽 Recently, Juan Pablo Saibene shared on his LinkedIn a column he wrote for Forbes Uruguay, where he reflected on the power of volunteering and how individual success is connected to collective success. 🌎 That writing process reminded him of the impact we can all have when we share our experiences and knowledge, a reminder of what truly matters! Additionally, he also participated in Mark Donnigan's #VoicesofVideo series, where he got to share Qualabs’ journey, the challenges we tackle as a team, and how video tech innovation is at the core of what we do. 🎥💻 It was a moment to highlight our commitment to building technology that creates real, tangible impact in our industry. Both experiences, while different, make us reflect on the importance of giving back to our community, whether through initiatives like the MonteVIDEO Tech #SummerCamp or the #opensource projects we develop at Qualabs. The countdown begins! 🚀 We’re excited to announce the 2 INCREDIBLE OPEN SOURCE PROJECTS we’ll be working on from November through January as part of MonteVIDEO Tech #SummerCamp2025! 🙌🏽 🔹 MoQ Player Implementation This project aims to explore the potential of the #MoQ (Media over QUIC) protocol by building a basic player. We’ll focus on aspects like handling fMP4 and Low Overhead Media Container (#LOC) formats, adaptive bitrate (#ABR) ladder auto-selection and evaluating how existing HLS/DASH functionalities can be adjusted to fit the low-latency environment MoQ offers. 🔹 VAST to SGAI Conversion Service Developing an open-source tool to convert #VAST (XML) files into #HLSInterstitials, enabling faster adoption of Server-Guided Ad Insertion (#SGAI) while reducing the need for costly SSAI solutions. This solution will integrate seamlessly with iOS, hls.js, and ExoPlayer environments. These 2 days were absolutely amazing!!! packed with excitement, connections, and unforgettable moments 🤩 On day one, 2 outstanding talks from industry leaders showcased and mentioned our work! 🙌🏽🤯 A HUGE THANK YOU to Will Law for all his incredible support with #CMCD – and what an unexpected surprise at the end of your talk! Seeing ourselves featured there was truly exciting! 😱🌟 Big shoutout to Nicolás Levy, Santiago Otero, and the whole team behind CMCD – a project we kicked off at #SummerCamp2023 that keeps evolving! We’re beyond excited for what’s next with CMCD v2 😏 Another highlight was our dear friend Alex Giladi and his talk on Ads and Overlays 🎥. It was amazing to see him share parts of the collaboration we worked on together!
