  • Last day at Khipu AI, closing with another round of inspiring sessions. This time, we dived into Women in AI, exploring its impact on gender equality and justice. Catherine D'Ignazio, co-author of Data Feminism, kicked off her talk with three questions: 👉 What does feminist AI look like? 👉 Do we want feminist AI? 👉 Or do we want a world without AI? From there, she explored how AI systems can reinforce gender bias and discrimination. She emphasized the responsibility of the AI community in driving change and introduced seven principles of data feminism to promote fairness. She also raised concerns about consent in data collection and the environmental impact of AI. Ivana Feldfeber, co-founder and Executive Directress of DataGénero - Observatorio, presented AymurAI, an AI tool for courts that anonymizes rulings to improve data on gender-based violence and promote open justice. She highlighted the power of data to drive social change and the importance of collaboration across sectors to build ethical AI solutions. These conversations reinforced a key takeaway: AI it’s more than technology, it’s also about people, ethics, and the future we want to build 🚀

Today at Khipu AI, we took part in the "Navigating AI Challenges: From Research to Real-World Applications" session, moderated by our Head of Ops, Gonzalo Marín. ⭐ The panel featured three experts sharing invaluable insights: Diego Kiedanski, PhD, AI for Good Director at Tryolabs, shared his perspective on bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical applications. Drawing from his experience in both academia and industry, he showcased biodiversity monitoring as a case study—demonstrating how AI solutions can evolve from research papers to real-world implementations, particularly in regulated industries. Eitan Sapiro-Ghelier, PhD student at MIT, presented fascinating insights from a case study of US appellate courts, revealing how LLMs often struggle with legal text. He detailed his efforts to fine-tune language models with specialized legal content to improve performance. Sara Hooker, VP of Cohere for AI, offered valuable lessons from her career journey, emphasizing her experience developing models for non-profits and addressing challenges like data drift. Her compelling message centered on measuring progress by real-world impact and advocated for focusing on projects with meaningful impact. 👏 With a full room and engaging discussions between the audience and speakers, this session was a complete success. We're proud that members of our team were able to participate in such an insightful event.

  • AI maturity directly impacts financial performance: check out the insights shared by our CEO, Alan Descoins, from an MIT Sloan School of Management study. 🌟🌟 Companies that fully integrate AI outperform their peers, while those in early stages lag behind. 🌟🌟 Where does your company stand in this journey?

📊 Did you know there's a direct correlation between AI maturity and financial performance? MIT Sloan School of Management recently published a compelling study, with a breakdown of four stages enterprises typically experience when adopting AI: 1️⃣ Experiment and Prepare: Education, data readiness, and human-in-the-loop processes. 2️⃣ Build Pilots and Capabilities: Automating processes, establishing clear use cases, and leveraging generative AI tools. 3️⃣ Develop AI Ways of Working: Embedding automation, adopting test-and-learn practices, and exploring autonomous agents. 4️⃣ Become AI Future-Ready: Fully integrating AI into decision-making, creating AI-driven services, and combining various AI capabilities (generative, agentic, robotic). 💡 The striking insight? Companies in the first two stages typically perform below their industry’s average financially, while organizations in the last two stages **outperform their peers**! 📈 As my friend Fabiano Battaglin from Walmart wisely said, successful leaders focus less on "building ML models" and more on "building systems that work"; systems that will drive continuous improvement and tangible financial results. Throughout the last 15 years at Tryolabs, we've seen our partners evolve significantly along the AI maturity path, working more efficiently, delivering greater value, and doing it way faster. ➡️ Curious to hear from others: what have you seen around? where does your organization stand today on this maturity journey? 🔍 Read the MIT study: https://lnkd.in/d7fjbg2T ⚙️ Piece I wrote about why you need to invest in MLOps now: https://lnkd.in/dVsrmXZt #AI #GenAI #EnterpriseAI #DataDriven #MLOps #Analytics #Innovation
