⚛️ The ITCOMMS PR Internship Has Begun: A Week of Selection in Numbers Two weeks ago, we opened applications for future PR pros, and yesterday we’ve already conducted the first lecture of the theoretical part of the internship. Let’s take a peek behind the scenes of our selection process: ⚫️ 22 brave candidates submitted applications ⚫️ 23% passed the selection and are now diving into the program ⚫️ 18% joined the theoretical part ⚫️ 27% almost made it, completing the test assignment but not quite passing ⚫️ 31% decided that the test assignment wasn't for them, and didn’t complete it 💔 The most common mistakes when applying: Either ignoring the test completely or doing it half-heartedly. For example, when we asked for media pitches, but received just a list of publications. But enough about the numbers. Let’s talk about those who made it. Here’s what’s ahead for them: ⚫️ 12+ weeks of hands-on experience with real projects alongside ITCOMMS experts ⚫️ A personal mentor and teamwork opportunities ⚫️ An international environment From crafting press releases that top media can’t wait to publish, to creating crisis management strategies – we’ll teach it all. A busy week for our colleagues at ITCOMMS! This week, our team members Jeanna Skripal and Elena Lungu had their hands full. In addition to handling their regular tasks, they were actively reviewing applications for our internship program https://lnkd.in/dq74vgty. From screening test assignments to conducting interviews, they worked hard to identify the best candidates. Some applicants have already been approved and are eagerly awaiting the start of their internships. But teamwork is everything! While they were busy with applications, two of our other colleagues, Evgeniia Mamicheva and Aziza Ilyasova, shared their insights on Aziza’s experience as an intern at ITCOMMS. She spoke about how she successfully completed the program and what helped her secure a permanent position at the agency. Last week I spoke at the meeting of the Marketing Association of Uzbekistan on the topic: "Advertisement" or Why Commercial Publications in the Media Should Be Made Interesting Uzbekistan has a law "On Advertising" that requires any material that mentions a company, brand or product to be labelled "Advertisement". Many companies have simply accepted this and produce advertising texts that merely showcase their products or services. But media can be used more effectively, revealing a brand's story, building a reputation and telling something truly engaging. Media is a great opportunity to tell and show your audience much more than just adverts 💯 It’s important to understand that the "advertisement" label doesn’t actually scare off the audience — boring content does. Howard Luck Gossage said back in the last century: "Nobody reads advertising. People read what interests them, and sometimes that’s advertising." The audience at my presentation showed great interest and asked many questions.
