🌟 BRIDGING EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT: Empowering Students with Career Planning and Job-Ready Skills 🌟 As we wrap up the final working day of this year, we can't help but reflect on meaningful moments including the recent Career Planning Workshop hosted by Edtronaut, in collaboration with #BAM, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Alumni Mentoring (VAM). In a world where over 100,000 university graduates in Vietnam face unemployment each year, and 60% work outside their fields of study, we are reminded of the critical need for career planning and bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world skills needed in the workforce. The workshop was to faciliate and provide essential support for career planning for students at the Banking University with a few highlights: 🔍 Explored Career Clarity through Self-Awareness: While self assessment tools like MBTI, StrengthsFinder, or DISC and many others are available, fundamentally students need to discover their strengths, passions, and personal "why" to define the territories and potential paths to explore for their career, and the earlier they start the better. 🚀 Built Skills for the Future of Work: The students gained actional insights about the workforce landscape and skills required for ever changing labor market, from Generative AI (GenAI) trends to practical leadership and communication skills and technical skills in business and for each of the verticals / industries. 🤝 Strengthened Networks with Mentors and Peers: Through Vietnam Alum Mentoring’s guidance and the GROW model, students now have more insights and structured approach to craft personalized career plans, while mentors provided valuable direction on navigating multinational corporations, local companies, and startups. As we shared knowledge and sparked conversations, one thing became clear: the power of community and mentorship is unparalleled. We are immensely grateful for #BAM, with special thanks to Mr. Dinh Khoi Le, representative of BAM/VAM, the organization team and the inspiring mentors who shaped this workshop and the extended community.
