Last week was incredibly productive for the Forvis Mazars and SAPP Academy teams. We conducted a successful series of training sessions for students at the University of Economics and Law (UEL) and Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City (HUB). Our trainers, including Ms. Ngan Le, Audit Director at Forvis Mazars Vietnam, Mr. Thai Nguyen, Head of Solutions, and Mr. Hai Nguyen Ngoc, CPA (Aust.), ACCA Business Unit Manager at SAPP Academy introduced the modern case-based learning method through a practical case study of Vingroup. They guided students in analyzing financial reports and understanding financial strategies from multiple perspectives. The sessions were not only informative but also interactive, with our speakers addressing various related questions. On September 20, Forvis Mazars participated in the Industrial Expo Hanoi 2024 held at Me Linh Plaza, Quang Minh Town, Me Linh District. This event, organized by the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Authority, showcased 110 booths representing leading enterprises from Hanoi’s industrial zones, particularly in the sectors of electronics, high technology, and manufacturing. The fair served as a vital platform for businesses to introduce and promote innovative products. It facilitated valuable trade connections, enhanced supply chain integration, and fostered partnerships among companies both within and beyond Hanoi’s industrial zones. On the second day of the program, Huy Pham, ACCA, Tax Director of Forvis Mazars, delivered a key presentation "Key Tax Considerations Post-Super Typhoon Yagi." This insightful discussion addressed opportunities related to tax exemptions, reductions, extensions for payment deadlines, and penalties for late payments. Additionally, it provided essential updates on significant tax changes impacting businesses in the aftermath of the event, including an analysis of deductible expenses and input value-added tax for losses.
