These salmon are incredible. They taste and smell like the fresh ocean- No “fishy” taste or smell. Perfectly proportioned as well and I like the mix of Atlantic and Sockeye. Butters are yummy too. I would definitely order again and again.

We eat a lot of salmon. Fresh, frozen, wild and farm raised. The packaging was excellent, foam chest within a shipping box and several ice packs inside. Salmon was plastic sealed, not frozen, but relatively cold. We cooked it the same day. The salmon had a yellowish color all around the edges, not the usual white to silver you see at the edge of the fillet where it’s thin.

The flavor of the cooked fish (grilled according to instructions) was just funny, tasted off and not pleasing. The flavored butter that came with it was nauseating, not good at all. We threw it all away. Very disappointing for a Martha Stewart brand, which is why we bought it. It was edible at best, barely. Buy a can of salmon, far better taste and a fraction of the cost.

As other have written, the fish has off-flavors: the kind of fishy, borderline-spoiled taste that you get from supermarket fish that's been out of the water too many days.

There's no excuse for this kind of spoilage with frozen fish. Fish can be butchered and flash-frozen at sea, hours after the catch. You should be able to get the freshest fish possible in frozen form (hint: almost all the sushi you've ever had was flash-frozen at sea).

I can't imagine what this company is doing that's leading to such disastrous quality. Maybe it's in how long they store it, or how they transport it? Whatever it is, they need to stop.
