A little too shallow
Metal is strong and durable. The little knob feet have felt on the bottom of them so it won't scratch the table top. Only negative is is so shallow that the Thirstystone coasters it is advertised to use it for are so thick that the top one in the set of four is not contained so it slides off the top of the stack if it is bumped.
