UPDATE - WONDERFUL customer service!! They saw my review, issued refund & provided replacement. That's unheard of these days!First one worked well for a few years & then quit working. I bought a second one in March 2024 and this one quit working already ... Return window has passed, go figure.

I bought this dehumidifier for my freshman year of college. It was common knowledge that the dorm I was assigned had a reputation for being humid. So much so, that during the year I lived there, there was a lovely little mold outbreak. I kept this on in my dorm room pretty much anytime that there wasn’t snow on the ground. In the warmer months, it would fill more quickly. I don’t think it filled up any faster than every 36 hours during peak humidity during my use. It’s easy to empty, easy to clean with a little vinegar when necessary, and really hasn’t become less effective after having it for 6 years. It’s been used for the first straight year, then intermittently for a few months of the year for the last 5. In the town I live in now, humidity isn’t as frequent of a problem. I find myself using a humidifier more often than this dehumidifier, but when I do pop it out of storage, it works rather quickly to manage any stuffiness that is bothering me. It’s super simple to use, with just an on/off switch. There is a plug to easily empty it, which I’ve always repurposed to water plants. For the money, and the size of the space I’ve inhabited (either a small dorm room or a 1 bedroom apartment) it’s worked very well. I wouldn’t expect it to cover more square footage than it advertises. It’s also genuinely quiet, and I like that it shuts of automatically when full. I’m very happy with the unit for what I spent on it.

Exactly what I needed in my bedroom. Even if the temp is high, I don’t feel it nearly as much with it running. It’s evident that it works because of the moisture it collects. I empty it about every four days, but I don’t live in high humidity. I imagine the capacity requirement depends on how humid it is in the area and how often you are able to empty it.
Very light weight.

You can hear it if everything else is silent, but it’s a soft sound. I have it on my desk, but my door is usually open to the rest of the apartment. I would wager its performance will increase if the area was more closed off.

Plug and play, basically. There’s a slide out tray that is the bottom half of the unit, and when the water level gets high, turn the unit off and slide out the water collector. drain it by unplugging the black plastic cork. Put the cork back in place once empty, slide water collector back in place, and switch back on. Voila!

Well worth the money. It’s been running non-stop for two months now, will update later on.

Honestly, I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but thought I would warn you off of this product. Purchased one of the dehumidifiers and it quit working after two or three months. I immediately contacted customer support who, by the way, were amazing to work with, and they shipped me out a replacement. Well, within approximately one month the replacement stop working. This time when I reached out to customer support, they told me to just not to bother about providing proof of anything and they just refunded my money. Meanwhile, while all of this was going on. I ordered yet another one so this is now my third dehumidifier. And - This one quit working within a couple of months as well. So even though the product is worthless, the customer support is amazing! Now I’m going with a completely different brand. I’ve got my fingers crossed on this new one. I’m not sure what the problem was. I had it in a very small enclosed space but I think there truly is just a design flaw in that little guy. It’s not a lot of money so not a big deal but still I think three failures in the span of a few months is a bit ridiculous. I’m still out my money on the second one that I purchased, but I’m not even gonna bother asking for a refund on that one. Good luck , but stay away from this dehumidifier.

For the price, I am impressed so far! We have a tiny second bathroom with no windows. It has an exhaust fan that the kids frequently forget to turn on, and as a result, it often feels damp and musty in there. Didn't need anything fancy, just something more than DampRid. This is a very simple machine - plug it in and turn it on. It's easy to see the moisture collected and to empty it. The difference it has made is noticeable but it's small and quiet. My husband was impressed enough to buy one for his shop. Don't know how well it will hold up over time, but thus far, a great purchase.

I've had this and used it for a month. It did exactly what it was supposed to do and provided me with much comfort in Alabama humidity with no AC. Unfortunately when changing the tank and errant splash killed the electronics, and now it won't turn back on. A few inches above the tank itself are just the bare wires, and the intake hole of the tank just splashes right up in there.

All in all, this is a very good dehumidifier, but be careful when removing the tank.

Update: within a week of posting this review I had a new unit on my doorstep, totally free from the seller. Service response times and shipping was super fast, and the replacement unit works perfectly.
I would purchase again.

Purchased in November 2023. Been in use everyday since then. Was working great but the end of June 2024 it died. So I got 8 months out of it. Return window was only two months....

So of these for our rv. It is very quiet and compact. Does a great job to pull moisture from the air. However, they are not lasting very long. Our first unit about a year and the second one was purchased in April of this year but stopped working first of July. Would not purchase this model again.

I have a studio in basement which tends to get humid during monsoon and the humidity tends to bring fungus on walls, but after using this product for couple of weeks i have seen difference in fungus growth and the over all smell is decreased… i dont have any windows in my studio so this was quite a good purchase.. water tank takes 2-2.5 days to fill up the entire tank which i use to water my plants.. I would totally recommend this dehumidifier to anyone who has the same problem as me..

I realised that the dehumidifier fills up really fast when my maid mops the floor or if the door to outside is open… I usually have A/c running from 11am-8pm which removes humidity out of my room but between 8pm to next morning it fills half of my tank.. also realised that every morning im not welcomed with the typical moist smell, which for me is worth it..
