Amund is a Principal in our Oslo office. He has more than 15 years of research and consulting experience in communication systems.
Amund combines a broad understanding of the telecoms value chain with deep technical knowledge of fixed and mobile networks. He spends most of his time providing expert advice to governments, regulators and network owners on policy, business planning and technical issues.
Amund joined Nexia Management Consulting AS (Nexia) in 2014. Analysys Mason acquired Nexia in 2017.
Before joining Nexia, Amund worked at Simula Research Laboratory, Norway's leading communications systems research group, for 11 years. As the leader of Simula's Resilient Networks group, he initiated and managed several large research projects within the areas of network resilience, measurements and routeing.
Amund has a significant academic track record, with more than 50 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings.
As a consultant, Amund has worked for clients in the private and public sector on business strategy, technology assessments, vulnerability analysis, coverage analysis, broadband strategies and regulation.
Amund is particularly interested in policies, architecture and partner strategies that foster robust and secure communication for special user groups such as emergency services, electricity companies and infrastructure owners. He has been responsible for a number of public reports on topics including broadband coverage, public protection and disaster relief (PPDR) communications, frequency allocation and mobile services on trains.
Amund received his PhD in communications systems from the University of Oslo in 2007. After graduation, he spent a year as a post-doctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the USA.
