Motorola’s Milestone XT720 has been popping up in a few places.  First released in Korea as the Motoroi (with Android OS 2.0), and then on to Europe in June, the phone made its US debut with Cincinnati Bell, and then showed up again with Centennial Wireless.  The Milestone XT720 should be crossing north to join Wind Mobile’s lineup.  The Milestone XT 720 will be Wind’s second Android handset offering after introducing the Huawei U8100 earlier this month.  While the Moto addition is a repeat of an earlier rumor this month, more details are surfacing:  Wind will also be offering the Blackberry 9100.

While this Android smartphone is in no danger of dethroning Motorola’s DROID X and DROID 2 powerhouses, it’s still a reasonably well-equipped device, with a 720 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 8 megapixel camera, 720p HD video, HDMI out port, and a 3.7 inch touch display.  The XT720 is running with Android OS 2.1 (Eclair).  It’s definitely a more tricked-out phone than the Huawei.

No word yet on pricing, as the Moto smartphone hasn’t shown up in Wind Mobile’s online store.  Expect it to be one of their higher-priced phones, as Wind does not subsidize the mobile devices it retails.  The Huawei Android phone is available for $140.  Plan to see the Milestone XT720 at a much higher price point, perhaps in mid-September.
