Verizon Wireless has updated their HTC Incredible web page to match their Android operating system upgrade going out today. Not only are they beginning the Over the Air update to Android 2.2 (Froyo), Verizon is now shipping Froyo in the box.
The Incredible was a difficult to get smartphone from its launch. Most of the delay was due to HTC changing touchscreen display providers once they could no longer get AMOLED screens from Samsung. (Samsung needed them all for their popular Galaxy S line.) But now, if you order an HTC Incredible, you shouldn’t have any more wait. There’s no more “Ships By” red-dot disclaimer next to the phone image on the website today.
