Archos Ten Inch Tablet Sells Out Already

Bet you didn’t even know that you could buy this.  Well, you still can’t.  Not yet, anyway.

Archos quietly launched their Archos 101 Internet tablet (with the final 1 much smaller, I assume they pronounce it “ten-one”), and it’s sold out already.  Announced on their site to UK customers, the next shipment won’t be available until “second half of December.”  The ten inch tablet cannot be bought yet on the US version of the site.  You are asked to choose a model but two choices (8 and 16 GB) are grayed out.  The prices will be $269.99 for the 8 GB and $349.99 for 16 GB.  The button beneath says “Notify Me.”

Archos resellers such as Amazon say the product hasn’t been released yet so this offer may not have crossed the Atlantic anyway.

The Archos 70 is also sold out to British customers until “the first half of December,” but they are available on site for US buyers.  The British retailer Dixons also claims they have the 70 in stock.

A brochure with full technical specifications is available on the Archos site, and it will have you wanting one of these ten inch lovelies for the Holidays.  Among other things, it says the tablet stocks Android 2.2 with Flash.  Triple asterisks lead you to the disclaimer that is actually ships with Android 2.1 and the OS will updated to Froyo “when released.”
