Leak: Best Buy's Internal System Now Shows HTC Merge

Best Buy employees must be having a contest to see who can get the most leaks out to the Android blogosphere.  First there was the Nexus S leaflet, then their online feature, then there it was again in its system, and after that in its store display planning (tweet and graphic from @anrblog) with the suggestion the device will be publicly displayed yesterday.

Somebody losing that pool may have figured the way to go would be to leak a different upcoming phone.  So how about the world-roaming HTC Merge?  It was supposed to launch on November 16th (some said 11th), then November 23rd, and now it’s supposedly delayed for some unknown amount of time, for some unclear reason.  The rumor about late LTE implementation (Verizon’s almost-4G network) was later stepped back from, but then what could the hold-up be?

So take a look at the above screenshot from Best Buy’s system.  There’s the HTC Merge, fourth from the left in the second row, labeled as HTC ADR6325 Merge (Android).  It’s sitting next two other HTC Android models on Verizon Wireless, the Droid Eris and the Incredible.  Interesting that the other models don’t have their OS called out like these three.  Also, last I heard, didn’t the Incredible have Droid branding as well as the not-that-exciting Eris?  Where did it go?

Anyhow, let’s hope this new Best Buy appearance means the Merge will be in-store and on sale real soon now.   And if Best Buy has it, then Big Red will be ruling the air with this one.
