Motorola’s DROID X finally got a passport, and its first stop will be Mexico.

The 1 GHz, 4.3 inch WVGA touch display smartphone will undergo a name change upon immigration, but otherwise it’s the same X we all know and love.  Look for this powerhouse to debut as the first Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) device in Mexico, where it will be offered by Iusacell.  Iusacell is the third-largest carrier in Mexico, and supports CDMA bands (it better, or the X won’t work).

No pricing yet, but the handset should be available by the end of the month.

You may recognize the Motoroi brand name.  Not only was it used in Mexico before, but also in Korea.  In both cases the Motoroi smartphone was none other than the original Motorola DROID.

And here’s the Press Release, which is in Spanish.  In particular the Motorola reps are very big on their MOTOBLUR social networking and the X’s ability to serve as a wireless hotspot.
