More Details About Gingerbread's UI Changes

It seems that the Android user interface will look more polished than ever before with the release of Gingerbread (Android OS 2.3). Google has made some changes that will make images in Gingerbread true 32 bit color with a transparent Alpha channel. This is not only going to help Android’s UI look a bit more refined, but will also fix some color banding issues it has had for a while. Plus, developers will be able to develop better-looking apps, which is what all Android users want.

While Gingerbread’s team focus doesn’t seem to have been the UI, I think every little bit helps. Once Honeycomb (Android OS 3.0) is here, we should enjoy not only a highly-polished UI, but also a much more intuitive and useful one as well.  That is, if we’re to think that Matias Duarte will make changes that look at least as good as his WebOS does.
