Hands-on with Verizon's HTC Thunderbolt — 4G LTE Power

The HTC Thunderbolt is one of the new devices introduced by Verizon at CES that will work on its 4G LTE Network. The new phone features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor and a kickstand behind it.  It is essentially a Verizon rendition of the EVO from Sprint down to the kickstand on the back.  It is an impressive device, it is just lacking in the latest additions to the Android game like dual core and Gingerbread (Android 2.3).

The device has a nice in-hand feel, and appears less bulky then its EVO cousin. The phone is no slouch either and performance is on par in what we have come to expect from phones of this class.  One issue everyone hopes is addressed in the issue of battery life while using 4G. Hopefully Verizon’s LTE is less if a power draw then Sprint’s WiMax, as this is the first LTE device being released.

The Thunderbolt comes with Skype integrated into the Sense UI, 8 GB of internal memory, and a pre-installed 32 gigabyte microSD card.  With that much space this phone is a dream for anyone heavy into multimedia, hopefully more manufactures start to up the amount memory they ship their devices with.
