The LG Optimus 3D is an otherworldly beast when it comes to smartphone performance, scoring the highest of any stock Android phone in the Quadrant system benchmark test. The secret behind the performance lies in the processor. While everyone was clamoring over the NVIDIA Tegra 2 (heck, it’s even in LG’s Optimus 2x), LG loaded this superphone with a 1 GHz TI OMAP4 dual core processor. The Optimus 3D is also the world’s first dual channel and dual memory Android smartphone.
The smartphone scored an amazing 2958 in LG’s test and 2800 in a run by Phone Arena. Either score bested the Optimus 2X ‘s score of 2700, and it is the fastest recorded speed of any non-modified Android phone. It appears just as with last round of processors, Texas Instruments has optimized their cores to deliver better performance than all of the competition while running at the same clock speed.
