If you’re still rockin’ the OG Droid, you’ll be happy to hear that thanks to Pete Alfonso (of Bugless Beast fame), you can now have AOSP Gingerbread in all it’s glory! If you’re rooted that is, this is a stock build with code from the master branch of the 2.3.2 tree. He’s added a few of his favorite modifications, the OG Droid launcher, media, and bootanimation. This is absolutely, 100% Gingerbread, but in no way an “official” release.
I personally owned an OG Droid, and flashed everything out there, but never got a chance to run an fully Gingerbread rom. I’ve since moved on to another device but would definitely give this a shot if I had the chance. Pete is one of the big devs in the Droid community, he’s been around for a long time and knows his stuff. In my opinion, the android community is the greatest out there, and things like this prove that point.
