Thanks to the miracle workers over at XDA Developers, the “tablet only” Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) has found itself showing up in the strangest places. Now it’s being ported to a Nexus One Android smartphone.
Need an OS update? According to XDA’s site, member bypass23 along with a fellow developer have used a Honeycomb SDK to compile a booting ROM for his phone. It is at an extremely early stage, so there isn’t much to work with, and of course is probably infested with bugs.
Regardless of the quality, it’s pretty cool to see something said to never be on a smartphone, on a smartphone. If you wanna check out a little more info, and instructions to download the ROM yourself, you can head over to the XDA development thread to get started. Good luck, and happy Honeycombing!
