Blockbuster on Demand to Ship on HTC EVO 3D and EVO View 4G

 

Of the myriad of new devices debuting at CTIA in Orlando, two of the most hotly anticipated are Sprint’s new flagship HTC Android devices. The HTC EVO 3D is billed by Sprint as “America’s First 4G ‘Glasses Free’ 3D Device. The HTC EVO View 4G is its tablet offshoot.

Both devices will ship with Blockbuster’s On Demand app, according to the press release from Sprint. The EVO 3D will be the first 3D handset loaded with the app, which will allow purchases and rentals of Blockbuster’s extensive inventory of movies, including selected 3D titles. Customers will have access to the hottest new releases through On Demand the same day the are released on Blu-ray and DVD.

Blockbuster on Demand rentals range in price from $1.99 to $3.99,  and can be viewed on one device for a 24 hour period. Purchases start at $5.99, and can be watched on any other Blockbuster on Demand-compatible devices.

For those who still have a preference for physical media, or for releases not yet available digitally, the app will also provide access to Blockbuster’s in-store inventory.  Customers can also manage their Blockbuster by Mail queues remotely through this program.
