Intel Showcasing Android x86 devices at IDF in Beijing

Intel has recently invited 6-8 notebook manufacturers to showcase a number of Android-x86 based devices at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) hosted in Beijing on April 12th and 13th.  Two of these companies are Inventec and Compal Electronics of Taiwan.  Android-x86 is basically an Open Source project which provides easy means to install Google Android on a Netbook.

Intel Android x86 netbooks at Computex Taipei?

If all goes as planned Intel might officially announce the models at Computex Taipei which is May 31st through June 4th.  The Computex Taipei is one of the worlds largest computer and technology fairs in the world.  Once announced their plans would be to launch these Android devices in the second half of this year.  Google has been using the Intel Atom CPU in the Cr-48 and a few other big players involved would include Samsung, Acer, and Asustek Computer.

Today Android Tablets, Tomorrow, the Netbooks?
