With all new gadgets coming out it’s hard to get a company to commit to a date and pricing while rumors are spreading rapidly.  However Motorola was nice enough to announce their plans to release their Wi-Fi only version Motorola Xoom in Canada this April.  On top of that piece of great news, a company by the name of Future Shop has announced a pre-order and a price of $599.99.  The Xoom has an estimated release of 04/08/2011.  To get your pre-order go here.

If you would like to skip to the end of the press release you’ll notice another great statement that the “Motorola XOOM 3G will also be available in Canada mid-year.”  We’ll let you know as soon as we hear pricing for the 3G device and if there will be another pre-order offered.

If this news isn’t good enough we also can confirm Telus is on board and will be selling the Wi-Fi version of the Xoom also for $599.99.  No dates are available at this time.  Here’s a quote from David Fuller the Chief Marketing Officer of Telus.

“We are thrilled to bring the first Android 3.0 powered tablet to Canadians. Almost by the month, Canadians are doing more through multiple ‘screens’ which tablets and smartphones provide. They’re a dashboard for our busy lives and on-the-go entertainment needs. TELUS is committed to delivering not only multiple screens, but the very best screens for the job. The MOTOROLA XOOM boasts best-in-class features and a rich mobile experience in one breathtaking package. This was worth waiting for.”
