Samsung Denies Recent Galaxy Tab Price Cut Rumor

Recent rumors state that Samsung has a stockpile of Galaxy Tabs and that the 3 million units it sold since launch last year haven’t been enough to get the device out of overstocked warehouses. Samsung spokesman James Chung states that these stockpiles and the idea of price slashing the Tab is “groundless.” He went on to say, “Our tablet strategy is offering a broad product range with different sizes to support wider customer choice.”

New Galaxy Tab Options

The latter refers to Samsung’s recent release of the world’s thinnest tablet at 8.9mm with screen sizes of 8.9 inches and 10.1 inches. These new Galaxy Tabs have the uncreative names of Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1.

What are your thoughts? Think the Galaxy Tab can compete with iPad2 despite pricing differences or is Samsung’s thinnest tablet campaign a lost cause?
