Sony Ericsson X10 Xperia Can Now Get Gingerbread Android OS 2.3

Sony Ericsson have been kind enough to take Xperia X10, no further than Android 2.1. I own an Xperia X10 and let me tell you this is bad news for all X10 owners. Well, the guys at XDA developers have come to rescue us from this dark side caused by Sony Ericsson. TripNRaVer, a developer from the smartphone modding community, has come up with a solution. He has ported Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread from Xperia Arc for Xperia X10.

 

The result is brilliant with most of the basic functions working. At present, this ROM version can not be downloaded since it lacks sound support. Features that work are network, Bluetooth, data, WiFi, Timescape and GPS. The developer is busy working on releasing a proper version as soon as he fixes sound options and camera functions. We will keep you updated as soon as any information is obtained from the developer.
