Virgin Mobile Live App Brings Streaming Audio / Video and Social Networking to All Android Devices

The newest entry to the field of android streaming media apps has been released by Virgin Mobile USA.   The current version of its social networking application, called Virgin Mobile Live 2.0, is now available as a free download on the Android Market.

The app will make Virgin Mobile’s critically acclaimed music and entertainment stream, known as Virgin Mobile Live,  available to all Android users, whether or not they’re Virgin Mobile customers. Virgin Mobile Live launched last year, featuring a wide variety of music and artist interviews, hosted by Abbey Braden. The app will initially feature media content from Virgin Mobile-sponsored events such as Virgin Mobile FreeFest and “Virgin Mobile Presents The Monster Ball Starring Lady Gaga.”

Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 also has a social networking component – it will allow users to view the hosts blog, “check in” at events and earn “treats” at events like the upcoming Lady Gaga shows, and sync their status with Facebook and Twitter.
