New Android Market

Select Samsung Galaxy S users have received a test version of the new Android Market app. One key feature update is being able to rate content of apps in Market. Along with the new Market come alpha and beta apps for Music, Gallery 10.2, Camera v12, and Desk Clock 10.

The Music app looks similar to Honeycomb’s music app and is available for download here. The new music app will most likely be announced at Google I/O. The encouraging thing about these apps is that fragmentation looks to be disappearing.

New Android Market Brings Welcome Changes

Once these core apps become available in the market, anyone  will be able to download them regardless of manufacturer or carrier. It also means HTC owners won’t be locked in to HTC Sense.

Now Google just needs a way to send OS updates without relying on carriers and manufacturers and fragmentation will be completely put to rest. Which app are you most excited for: Music, Camera, Gallery or Market?
