The new Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman smartphone will be the first model in the series to be powered by the Android OS. It is visually very similar to the Xperia X8 featuring a 3″ display and running Android 2.1. No release date for the device has been listed but it is shown on the Sony Ericsson website so it should be available soon in most markets as a high featured and low priced multimedia player.
