Sony Ericsson Coming Closer to Releasing the Xperia Play, Xperia Arc by End of Month

Sony Ericsson‘s upcoming release of the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc, rumored to be scheduled on April 28, will have gamers and multimedia junkies drooling in their computer chairs.  Both these phones are coming to Rogers on that date.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play: Game on

The Xperia Play is every gamer’s dream phone. Instead of a slide-out keyboard it slides out to reveal a Sony PSP game controller complete with the familiar triangle, X, square and circle buttons, as well as the start and select buttons. It comes with an 8 GB card but can be expandable up to 32 GB. Other great things about the Play are that it comes with Android OS 2.3, otherwise known as Gingerbread, a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, a front-facing camera and will come in both black and white along with hordes of other great features. The Play also comes preloaded with 6 games including Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10, and Madden NFL 11.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc: It’s On Too

Sony Ericsson’s other new device, the Xperia Arc, received it’s name because it fits the natural curvature of the human hand and just like the Xperia Play, it will come loaded with Gingerbread and have the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. The screen is bigger than the Play however, at 4.2 inches, and it will have Mobile BRAVIA, meaning the screen has been optimized for multimedia viewing. The camera is better than the Play’s meaning that it is an 8.1 megapixel and allows for HD video recording and has an auto-focus LED flash. The Arc will come with a 16 GB card and, like the Play, is expandable up to 32 GB. The really cool feature of the Arc over the Play is that there is an HDMI out that will allow the user to plug their phone into their HDTV.
