Our friends at the DroidLife blog have heard from a source at Verizon that there are now release dates for some phones which we’ve been hearing rumors about for quite a while, including the Motorola Droid X2, LG Revolution, and the Sony Xperia Play.
Here are the reputed release dates, and a few notes on each phone:
May 12:
Droid X2 (Motorola) – Successor to the much-loved DroidX, with 4.3 inch screen. Should be the first dual-core Tegra 2 phone to be offered by Verizon.
LG Revolution – Next in line (and LG’s first phone) to run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Also sports a 4.3 inch screen, as well as a 5 megapixel camera.
May 26:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play (a/k/a PlayStation phone) – Long awaited by gamers.
Outside of the Android world, May 12 is also said to be VZW’s release date for its first Windows 7 phone, the HTC Trophy.
We’re hoping for press releases on these soon, so keep your eyes on this space for updates.
