Motorola Mobility yesterday issued a press release announcing two QWERTY Android phones aimed at business customers, the Motorola XPRT and the Motorola Titanium. The XPRT is the higher-end model, packing Android 2.2 Froyo and the latest version of Motorola’s MOTOBLUR UI. In terms of hardware, it’s been kitted out with the now standard 1GHz processor, a 5 Megapixel camera and 3.1 Inch HVGA touchscreen. The big factors that will draw in the business crowd are its support of international GSM radios, making it a true “worldphone”, and its enterprise-class security features. These include 256-bit AES encryption of internal storage and MicroSD card, and a suite of remote management options. The Motorola XPRT goes on sale June 5th, retailing at $130.

The Motorola Titanium is the smaller of the two, boasting the same 3.1 Inch HVGA display and 5MP camera crammed into a more compact body. The OS is also a step down, as it’s running Android 2.1 Eclair. As yet, there’s no information about its update prospects, but being released in the second half of 2011 running 2.1 can’t be a good sign. Marketed as the successor to the Motorola i1, the Titanium is a Push-to-Talk phone operating on Sprint’s dated iDEN network with Direct Connect. This little Android has a much different character than its big brother, presumably aimed more at people working in the field, as it comes equipped with GPS and it’s even been ruggedised to military spec so it can certainly take a few knocks and keep on trucking. There is no information yet on pricing and release date for the Titanium, but I expect it won’t be long after the XPRT.
