Now It’s Official

The Motorola Droid X² (and that’s X squared not X2) official details have been released and the spec sheet matches up to what we have been telling you all along. It will continue on as a 4.3″ device, but this time thankfully it has been updated to a qHD display and resolution has risen from (854 x 480) to (960 x 540). It is now a dual core 1Ghz Tegra 2 device although the RAM appears to have changed to remain at 512MB and I hope that it doesn’t become a limitation to the otherwise high end specs.

The test version is running Android 2.2 but in all likelihood it will ship with Android 2.3.3 which should be released on the original Droid X any day now. On board storage remains at 8GB and the Tegra 2 allows for an upgrade to 1080p HDMI video playback. It should be released rather soon most likely within the month and should come in at less than $200. If your in need of an upgrade and don’t need 4G LTE this the Droid X² should be on your list of phones to check out.
