Netflix continues to be a great service for catching up with TV shows or just relaxing and catching a few movies here and there. Despite their whole debacle not too long ago with separating the streaming business from the physical DVD business and learning from it, Millions are still using it and if you’re an Android user, you should especially be a bit more excited.
Why is that? It looks like the Netflix Android app will be getting an update sometime here soon and from the looks of it, it’s pretty dang nice. Here’s a quick comparison from the old to the new:
As you can see, a pretty big difference. Droid Life received the screenshot this morning and the update isn’t in the Play Store yet, however, it looks like Netflix is rolling out the UI to a small subset of users for what we’d take is testing. The new look is very similar to the tablet layout where you can side scroll, among other things. Also, to learn more about a certain movie or show, you simply tap it once and if you want to watch something, you double tap it.
Pretty simple and hopefully this is a sign that the new UI will be out very soon. In the meantime, make sure you have automatic updates turned on for the Netflix app that way you don’t miss it once the update does go live.
