Earlier today, Blackberry finally pushed out BBM for Android and iOS into the respective app stores. Since then, we’ve actually seen a lot of content come out about the BBM app, like the persistent notification. Now we’ve found a way to bypass the virtual waiting line to get into BBM. It’s actually a pretty easy way to do it. Here’s how you can by pass it.
- Download BBM for Android or iOS
- Open the app and enter your email address
- Hit Next
- Force close the app, by going into settings > apps > BBM > Force Close/Stop, on iOS tap your home button twice and swipe the app away
- Open the app again and you should be able to create or login to your account
It’s worth noting that this won’t work 100% of the time. In fact, it worked for me the first time when I was taking screenshots, but I forgot my password, so after I retrieved it and tried to login, I was unable to get past the second screen. So be careful out there. If this doesn’t work for you, you’ll just have to wait it out. It’s actually good that Blackberry is doing this. As it will keep their servers from getting overloaded. And from having another failed launch, not that we want to see that again, or do we? Hopefully the waitlist won’t take that long, but then again we’ve seen other apps take years to become open to everyone. Including Gmail and now Ingress. So hopefully we won’t have to wait that long for BBM, or else I think a lot of people will lose interest, unfortunately.
