Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 has already proven itself to be a very capable device and with this latest update, it gets that little bit better. While Samsung’s plans were to release Android 4.4 KitKat for the Note 3 some time starting in February, it looks like they’ve jumped the gun a little bit and rolled it out early. As SamMobile is reporting, the Android 4.4.2 OTA is rolling out now in Europe – with Poland being named specifically. It should of course be noted that this is for the Snapdragon 800 powered variant of the Galaxy Note 3 with a model number of SM-N9005. The build number of the update is N9005XXUENA6 and appears to be the same firmware update that leaked over the weekend.

While the update is rolling out over KIES in Europe, that might not be much satisfaction to our American readers but, this is good news. If Samsung feel that the leaked firmware was good enough to roll out to devices anywhere in the world, then a larger rollout in the US and other parts of the world can’t be far off. As always though, you can go ahead and download the firmware yourself but, you do so at your own risk and there are no chances that it’ll work as you’d expect it to.

Much like the Android 4.4.2 build that recently leaked out for the Galaxy S4, Samsung have embraced some of Google’s visual changes in Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Now the icons in the notification pane are white and there’s also a shortcut to the camera having been added to the lockscreen, which is a very nice touch, indeed. The info for the build remains pretty much the same as the leaked build but, for those interested you can take a look below.

So, there you have it. Samsung might have been a little late to the KitKat Klub but, they’ve been fairly busy recently with the launch of the Galaxy Note 12.2 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Pro lineup at CES 2014. Let us know in the comments below if you have this build installed and how everything is working out for you!
