LG's G Pro 2 Phablet Shown Off In Red

LG’s challenger to the Note 3, the G Pro 2, comes with some impressive hardware, and has been seen in White, Silver and Titan Grey guises. Today has seen a red variant being shown in high-resolution on LG’s official website.  LG have opted for a more subdued hue of red, which isn’t as shiny or glossy as the usual red devices we are used to seeing from other manufacturers. With a more matte finish, hopefully the G Pro 2 will be more resistant to fingerprints than its shinier variants. The LG G Pro 2 (the name doesn’t quite glide off the tongue does it?) was predicted to be released either in late February or early March, but there is no official release date in sight as yet. It is believed that the G Pro 2 will be released before the G3 though.

The LG Pro 2 boasts an impressive 1080p 5.9-inch IPS display, powered by the ubiquitous quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU which is clocked at 2.26GHz as well as 3GB of DDR3 RAM. On the Camera side of things, the phablet features a  rear-facing camera with 13MP and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). 4K video is now recordable on the G Pro 2, as well as full 1080p 120FPS video for 4x slow motion. The front-facing camera’s 2.1MP is good enough for selfies and video chat. A removable 3200mAh battery is included, which is good news for heavy users. LG’s Note 3 competitor will be released with Android version 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, which is to be expected, because there’s no excuse for releasing a flagship device that is lagging behind on a previous version of Android. One of the stand out features of the G Pro 2 is the inclusion of LG’s Knock-Code, which basically allows you to go ahead and tap on your phone in a pattern to unlock your phone, instead of tapping in secret codes, or using your finger to squiggle a chosen pattern to unlock your device.

There’s more pictures of the red G Pro 2 below in the gallery. Are you waiting for the release of LG’s G Pro 2? If so, which colour is your favourite? Will you be purchasing the white, silver, titan grey or this newly discovered red variant? As always, let us know in the comments section below, or at our Google Plus page.
