Looks like someone made a mistake, either at AT&T or HTC – more likely HTC. But it appears that there is a glitch that’s keeping AT&T HTC One (M8) customers from being able to get their free 50GB of Google Drive space on their brand new device. Hang on though, because we have some good news – well for the most part. HTC and AT&T are aware of the glitch and are working to fix it. According to HTC, the error will be fixed in Mid-May. So if you’ve just bought a new HTC One (M8) on AT&T, don’t be sad, you’ll still get your Google Drive space that comes with the HTC One. Just not yet. The good thing is it’ll expire in May, instead of April, so you’ll get a bit more time. Not that it probably matters much anyways.

HTC isn’t giving us any details on what the cause was, but they say minor technical error. Which if it’s minor, you’d think it’d be fixed already. But then again, they are the engineers, and not me. Hopefully there are no more issues with the HTC One (M8), as HTC really can’t afford any other mistakes or errors like this. We’ll keep our eye out for AT&T users in Mid-May and let everyone know when the error is fixed. It’d be great if they fix it before then though.

As far as we know, the Google Drive promotion is still fully functioning for other HTC One models. So the Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile variants are still giving out their 50GB of Google Drive space, which bumps you up to 65GB of total space. That’s for Gmail, Drive, and Google+ Photos – if you decide to upload them at full resolution which I highly suggest. How many of you have picked up the AT&T HTC One (M8)?
